I know the 30 is a sweet shooter in a small package, but it is fairly hefty. All that heft does absorb recoil though. The 30s is thinner in the slide and obviously a lighter gun. The penalty there is more recoil. With the SF, aside from the obvious selection of magazines you can use (which applies to both guns as the 30S uses the SF frame), the ability to convert to different calibers is a huge plus.
