Sounded like BS to me, but they supposedly replaced the DMTL pump 3 times. Finally I discovered that if I filled the tank SLOOOOOOOWLY, the problem would not occur. The DMTL pump is mounted to the charcoal canister and is used to pressurize the evap system to check it for leaks. The DMTL pump can fail electrically, a fault code will be stored and the MIL malfunction indicator lamp will be illuminated. Ok, so after doing research, watching youtube videos, and reading the wiring diagrams, it seems like the simplest way to check this is by attaching a test light to the black and green wire at the connector to the DMTL pump and with the ignition key on, grounding out the wire. .
